GC + Cali with KT - Day 1

Well hello again bloggers! It's been a while, huh? I've been to girls' camp {GC}, California, and EFY! It's been great, so I figured I should share some!

First... girls' camp!

{3rd years in our ward: me, steph, liz, elle, julie, kallee, jill}

Girls' camp was amazing. I cried, I laughed, and had tons of fun! I swear, I have the best leaders in my ward. Sister Allen let us do pranks, it was way fun! She brought plastic bugs, and even an remote control skunk! It was the best.

I can't believe I'm halfway through my years in girls' camp! I remember being excited for my first year! Time flies!

Ok, next is California!

The plane ride.

So, for some reason, I'm terrified of planes. Maybe it's the fact that all I've ever known are the 9/11 attacks, or maybe flying thousands of feet above the ground seems a little sketchy, or maybe it's both. But the point is, I was horrified to fly by myself.

I went to the airport and all through check-in and security my heart was beating ridiculously fast, I probably could have thrown up. Now, I've been on a plane twice before, but with both my parents. Here, I'd be going alone, with no one I know, to go meet Katelyn. I was just freaked. Finally it came time to board the plane, I sat down by a window where some guy who worked for Southwest was sitting on the end, later some volleyball player sat in the middle. Soon it was time for take-off, which is the worst part for me. I just kept telling myself I was on Soarin' in California Adventure and saying a million prayers. By the time we were in the air I was ok and I started listening to music and taking pictures {see above}. Before I knew it, it was time to land, {it was only a 52 minute flight.}So we landed, I got off the plane, and pretty much realized I had no clue where I was going to meet Katelyn and her mom! I ended up just following the crowd and talking to the girl that I sat next to on the plane. Finally I saw Katelyn and we ran and gave each other a hug! And then I started getting really excited, I was in California!

After we found my bags, we got in the car and drove to the beach house Katelyn and her family were renting.

The second we walked out of the car, we were bombarded by Katelyn's cousins. They invited us to go watch World War Z with them and of course we said yes! So, we ran and put my stuff upstairs, grabbed some money, and left. {btdubs - it was a really good movie! it could have ended better, but it's still one of my favorites!}

When we got back we went to the beach for 30 minutes and then left for one of their family's reunion activities! It was fun, we swam, and they had a talent show! Then we went home, talked for a little, and that was the end of day one.

Youth Conference 2013.

Thursday was the day I left to Youth Conference for my stake! My friends and I have been excited to go to this for months and it was finally here!! Our ward met at the stake center at 8am and packed everything in the trailers and coolers and headed off to Mormon Lake.

When we got there we ate a quick lunch and left to hear Brad Wilcox speak. It was an awesome talk and he was hilarious! Afterwards, we went to our classes and those were good too. Then we went to dinner and they were serving Mexican food, it was delicious! We met up with some people we met at night games a few weeks back and it was great! After dinner it was "personal time" and you could basically do anything. So we talked with the same people, walked around, and then went to get ready for the dance.

Pretty much the dance was the best thing EVER. All of our friends agree it was the highlight of the conference and definitely the best time of our lives yet! It was my first dance as a Mia Maid, so it was pretty exciting. They played some awesome dance songs (my favorite: 22^), which was SO fun. And every once in a while they played some slow songs. I danced with two boys that I didn't know and then two boys that I had met at night games. It was pretty much just amazing!

Then that night in our (Jill, Kallee, and I) tent, we talked about everything that had happened that day, like a boy in our ward giving up his chair for us, awkward and great compliments received at the dance, and much more.

Even long after Jill and Kallee went to sleep (including after waking up Kallee to go to the bathroom), I couldn't sleep and I didn't even know why. By the time it was morning I was so tired and when most everyone was up I went to go to the bathroom, I was waiting in the line when all of a sudden I felt nauseous, I sort of knelt down and everything went black for about 2 seconds, so I laid down, there on the ground. One of my leaders came by and got some help. I stayed in a cabin for about 7 hours and then they sent me home with another girl.

I was pretty sad that I missed the rest of the day, especially testimony meeting, but I was mostly glad I got to go to the dance! I'm still a little sick, with the flu, and earache, pink eye, and a little headache, but I feel a lot better than yesterday.

Anyhow, besides the getting sick part... youth conference was extremely fun, it was just THE best. I loved it!

Memorial Day.

America by Imagine Dragons on Grooveshark

One of my grandpa's served during WWII, he didn't die during the war, but later. I love this guy soooooo much, and I've never even met him. I literally just cannot wait to meet him someday, it's one of the things I'm looking forward to most after I die.
that's him^^

I've had an obsession with America and our military ever since learning about WWII in social studies this year.  I just love it so much.

Today, and everyday, I hope you all remember the men who died serving our wonderful country, because what they do is amazing.

bittersweet happiness

Yesterday was the last day of school. I'm done with junior high, now I'm "fresh meat" {a freshman}, but I'm way excited! But the fact that I'm never going to Stapley again makes me kind of sad. I might have left, but I'll always be a Sabercat.

But anyways... so far my summer has been great! Our friends kicked it off last night with Venezia's pizza, playing at the park, watching Psych, and an epic dance party! It was super fun!

And then today I had some friends over to just chill, eat, and have popsicles. Alyssa performed a song on guitar and we had a little jam sesh together! Really, it's the day after school's out and it's already been so fun!

Also, this morning I had an apricot, ohhhhh how I love these delicious fruits!

Mum's Day

I love my mom so much, I gave her a card and said, "I don't know what I would do without you. I'd probably just be a blob on the couch living off popcorn." And that's not even a joke, it's the truth.

I can't wait to be a mom myself someday in the future. Every picture I see on Pinterest makes me want to be married and be a mommy to kids as cool as these.

Anywho, Happy Mother's Day!
