Lately

Hi. I gave my blog a new name, "Sentiments", because I'm the most sentimental person I know, so it only seemed fitting. And because, "The Life of a Redhead" seemed a little cheesy. & I changed just a few details about design and pages etc. So that's cool.

Also, I can't believe how fast this year is going. It's insane. July 1st???!?!?!! My oh my. We're half way done folks!!

Anyways, a lot has happened in the past 4 months since I've posted. My brother got married, I turned sixteen, went on my first date (and another), got my license(!!!), finally went to a music festival (checked that off the bucketlist), cut my hair, finished sophomore year, went on trek, went to girls camp, & went to EFY!

Here are some pictures:

 So, there's all that. Hopefully I'll be posting more!!

The Middle of Starting Over

I live in the middle of a gorgeous dessert with the bestest of friends.

We had my cousin take our pictures bc we decided we wanted some wardie pics and she's a cool photographer. So here's a montage and some song lyrics bc song lyrics always.

Life gives you pennies
Turn 'em into dimes
I'm in the middle of starting over
I'm in the middle of starting over

Daydreams

You sigh, look away
I can see it clear as day
Close your eyes, so afraid
Hide behind that baby face

Do do do do do do

The first thing I do when I get home from school is turn on Cigarette Daydreams by Cage the Elephant. It's a good freakin song.

You can drive all night
Looking for the answers in the pouring rain
You wanna find peace of mind
Looking for the answer

Most of the songs I listen to mention pouring rain.

If we could find a reason, a reason to change
Looking for the answer
If you could find a reason, a reason to stay

Standing in the pouring rain

Thinking Out Loud

Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran is such a quality a song that I'm not quite sure why I've never truly listened to it and its lyrics before. Because now that I have, it is on repeat and will not stop being on repeat for approximately 232345608736485628 hours.

People fall in love in mysterious ways. Maybe just the touch of a hand.
Relationship goals (obvi),

I miss everyone I met this summer.

That's about it I guess.

Moments Like These

Hello there.

The sky was beautiful tonight.

I dragged myself to my camera and then climbed onto the trampoline for some sick pictures of that sick AZ sky.

And by dragged myself I mean I am quite literally sick and was just layin there on my couch when I saw the sunset. Anddddd I just naturally had to snap some pics.

On a completely different note, I love those moments when, even for just a split second, teenagerhood is exactly what I imagined it to be. Because while it's still fun & hectic & crazy, it's obvi not High School Musical or anything I made it out to be. But every so often, in the midst of what it usually is, it'll be just what I thought it would be. And that makes me overjoyed.

When I was little, I used to think it was so weird that I would be a "teenager" someday. They seemed so old and big. I used to try to imagine what I would look like during high school and now here I am - in high school and big and a teenager.

Have I ever mentioned that the day before my first day of freshman year I listened to Taylor Swift's Fifteen and cried because that song always made me look forward to being in high school and boom. There I was, preparing to "take a deep breath and walk through the doors." It was quite a lot to take in.

I'm sentimental, ok?

Also I made this playlist a few days ago and it's my FAVORITE. It has lots of Sam Smith songs (that man sings straight to my heart), some other jazzy jams, and 2000s rock. It's fabulous.

And now that this post has been everywhere and back, I will end it.

New Year

Some of my Twenty Fifteen New Year resolutions include:

//keep a journal
//meet new people & find new places
//work out
//go on adventures
//put myself out there
//start saving for college (whattttttt)
//learn to start & keep a conversation
//give more
//bucketlist (used as a verb) as much as possible

It snowed last night. IN MESA ARIZONA. That doesn't happen. And today we all woke up to the beautiful view of snow on the Superstition Mountains. What a way to start Twenty Fifteen.

Happy New Year! Make it the best one yet.

XOXO Sarah

PS Waffle parties at 1AM are strongly recommended as they are extremely fun.
